How to Build a Bridgerton Inspired Wardrobe

Dearest reader,

Our patience has paid off, the beloved Netflix show Bridgerton hath returned. Just as juicy as Downton Abbey and as poetic as Gossip Girl, the popular television program we all love to gossip about, will surely captivate audiences with its second season. If you haven’t read the riveting book series yourself, here’s what to look forward to in the upcoming episodes.

In summary, Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, is looking to wed. Finding himself entangled with the Sharma family, it appears he’ll find one of the sisters suitable, but perhaps not the one everyone thinks. With the infamous Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, making a swift return and the drama as enthralling as ever, I conclude that once again this series will be the talk of the social season.

I don’t know about you, but this author came for the drama, and stayed for the fashion. One can’t walk through town without seeing a Bridgerton-inspired ensemble. Rightfully so, the garments of the Regency period are quite divine. Not as divine as Simon, played by Regé-Jean Page, but we’ll still hold out hope for a surprise appearance from his grace.

Looking for a Bridgerton worthy tea party gown or a captivating ensemble for your next soiree? No need to fret dear reader, I once again will provide you with all the tea on the finest items to collect.

Yours Truly,

The Lady Whistledown of College Fashionista

Darling Dresses

If you’ll be going out this season, you’ll need a dress fit for royalty. You don’t need to acquire a modiste dear reader, there are plenty of fine options to choose from already ready to purchase. With any of these choices on you’ll be ‘a diamond of the first water’ just like dear Daphne. I’ll place my bets on you being the talk of town this social season. Besides, a girl in a gown always sways the town.

Anthropologie Sachin & Babi Emile Dress

Dainty and delicate, the Sachin & Babi Emile Dress ($325) from Anthropologie is fit for a queen.

Reformation Jaylen Linen Dress

The Jaylen Linen Dress ($248) from Reformation is approved by this author.

Amazon Long Puffy Sleeve Prom Dress

Here’s a gown made for a ball. A color Daphne shines in, the evening gown from Amazon ($86) is divine.

Selkie Peach Skin French Puff Dress

Add a puff sleeve, please. The Peach Skin French Puff dress ($269) from Selkie is both charming and sweet.

Gorgeous Gloves

Gloves are an essential part of a ladies’ ensemble. The ton, what we call the high society, wouldn’t dare be seen at tea or a grand dinner party without the correct hand coverings. You never know who you might encounter, so it’s best to be ready for anything. Wear the classic white long gloves for a traditional look, or make things fun by wearing a pair with lace detailing.

David’s Bridal Satin Opera Length Gloves

No need to be a bride just yet to wear these white gloves ($25) from David’s Bridal.

Amazon Lace Floral Gloves

Lovely lace gloves ($9), like this pair from Amazon, are perfect for a garden soiree.

Amazon Ruffled Party Gloves

Amazon gives us another divine option here, with this pair of sheer ruffled gloves ($12).

Pretty Little Thing Satin Blue Gloves

Pretty Little Thing has pretty little gloves, like this satin blue pair ($6) that are just divine.

Pretty Pearls

Make haste to purchase this next item dear reader. Pearl jewels have become quite popular, being worn by high society all over town. Long or short in length, a pearl necklace is a pivotal key, adorning the ladies gown. Pearl earrings, bracelets, and pendants wouldn’t hurt either.

Urban Outfitters Chase Pearl Necklace

A pearl necklace is a necessity, Urban Outfitters’ chase pearl necklace ($30) is one this author adores.

Starling Pearl Birthstone Charm

If you want a more dainty option, the pearl birthstone charm ($170) from Starling is the one for you.

VEERT Green Onyx Freshwater Pearl Earrings

Don’t forget the earrings, in particular, these pearl earrings ($135) from SSENSE.

Kendra Scott Lila Band Ring Gold In White Pearl

This is just for decoration, for now, but this Kendra Scott pearl ring ($35) can be on your wishlist regardless of if you’re currently courted or not.

Fancy Footwear

In fashion, comfort isn’t always key, but when it comes to footwear, it sure is. A little heel to prance around in always makes a girl feel fancy, but for everyday use, a flat works wonders. Satin, classic black leather, or a ballet-style slippers are my top recommendations.

Zara Fabric Ballet Flats

Ballet slippers, like this pair ($50) from Zara, are preferable on and off the dance floor.

Lulus Lullie Pink Satin Rhinestone Ankle Strap Pointed-Toe Flats

You may have seen this popular bow embellishment throughout town, but these flats ($38) from Lulus are ones that are needed.

Anthrologie Guilhermina Ballet Mules

More mules ($98) and more bows from Anthrologie, the perfect combination.

Hair Heaven

A good hairstyle makes or breaks a look. The diamond of the season must be perfect from head to toe, so start with the head and acquire hair decorations. Hair ribbons are expected, as well as crowns for balls and other special occasions. You’ll be the one to remember with a big updo and embellishments.

Amazon Evening Party Tiara Headpeace

You’ll be the talk of the town wearing this headpiece ($10) from Amazon to the ball.

Amazon Vintage Satin Bow

To bow or not to bow, that is the question. The answer is always yes. Wear this pink bow ($4) from Amazon to your next big event.

Preparing the proper attire for special events can be difficult. With the above choices given, dear reader, you have no reason to feel uneasy. Dance the night away at your next soiree or promenade on the next sunny day in these pieces and many will be impressed. Your story may not be set in Bridgerton, but you can still make it worth telling.
