When it comes to being petite and picking a blazer, I think it’s important that the blazer fits in the sleeves and shoulders so it doesn’t give you the appearance of being shorter and wider than you actually are.
Petite-Friendly Blazers
I’ve built my collection of blazers over the years and have found that the very best ones come from J.Crew and J.Crew Factory. All but one of my blazers are 2+ years old and they are still just as beautiful as the day I bought them. They’re investment pieces and closet staples that you’ll never regret having on hand. Some of my favorites are under $100 and some are over, today I’m comparing the fit, price points, and ways I wear each one.
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” around 105lbs.
J. Crew Factory Sweater Blazer
The J.Crew Factory Sweater Blazer is the most affordable of all of my favorites. It gives a relaxed polish to an outfit with its close fit and longer length. In petite the sleeves are perfect and hit me right at the wrist. Although you can wear this one casually, I feel like the overall shape of this blazer is dressier. I mostly wear it with pants, jeans, and skirts because the longer length can sometimes hit funny with a dress. My best fit in this blazer is Petite XXS, but I also own it in regular XXS. My regular fit blazer is longer in the sleeves and the overall length.

J.Crew Factory Schoolboy Blazer
The Schoolboy Blazer is a classic fitting blazer. It has a preppy look and a shorter length. This blazer goes with everything from pants and jeans, to dresses and skirts. This blazer isn’t the trendiest fit, but it’s a classic that will never go out of style, in my opinion. My perfect fit is Petite 0 in this blazer. I also have a regular one in 00 and it’s overall larger in the shoulders and sleeves on me.

J.Crew Sweater Blazer
This sweater blazer was a gift from my momma several years ago and I have loved it year after year. I wear it in XXS. It is slightly oversized with a relaxed fit. As long as I’ve had this sweater is has never pilled. The only downfall is that it is dry-clean only. I have it dry-cleaned periodically and refresh it with Dryel at home. This one is pricy, but if you think about it on a cost-per-wear basis and how long it will last in your wardrobe, it’s worth it. I mostly wear this one casually with jeans or pants for work.

J.Crew Parke Blazer
The Parke Blazer has become a favorite of mine over the last year. It has a longer modern fit, so it’s more on-trend, but it’s also slim enough that it doesn’t overwhelm my petite frame. It is the most expensive of all of the blazers in my closet, but I know it will last for years and years, I look at it as an investment item. My white blazer that I’ve worn several times on the blog is also a Parke blazer and you can see by all of the ways I’ve styled it, it goes with everything! J.Crew used to run sales more often, but lately, the sales have been few and far between. I’m hoping for one soon that you can snag this beautiful blazer at a discount.
