Short Story is a styling service for women under 5’4″. They’re dedicated to helping petite women find a great fit, from the comfort of their homes!
I first wrote about Short Story in January and also shared a Valentine’s Day themed box with you. Today I’m sharing a styled box for summer!
In case you missed those first two posts here’s a little rundown of how Short Story works:
How Does Short Story Work?
If you’ve used a styling service before then the process with Short Story will feel familiar. You start by creating a style profile with your tastes, budget, and measurements. The survey even includes a place to put your inseam which I think is really important when it comes to shopping for petite pants and jeans. Then your stylist curates a box of five pieces and mails them to you to try on at home. Once you receive your box, you have five days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to return, the shipping and returns are free.
How much Does it Cost?
The styling fee for each Short Story box is $25, which is applied as a credit to anything you would like to keep from the box. You can choose how often you want to receive a box within your style profile.
My Summer Short Story Box
My stylist picked out three tops, a jumpsuit and two skirts for me. Every piece fit me perfectly, which is something Short Story does well. I mixed some of my Short Story items with things I already own, so I’ll link what I can for you. For many of the items that came in my Short Story Box, you’ll need to sign up!
Lucas Top
My top pick from my box is this soft striped t-shirt from Petite Principle. I tucked it all the way in but it hits me right at the hip when it’s untucked. I love the drop shoulder style and the subtle gray and white stripes!

Bodysuit
I’m not the biggest fan of bodysuits because I don’t find them to be all that comfortable, but I do love the way they look. This purple one came in my box and fits me well. It’s not always easy to find a bodysuit that isn’t too long for Petites.

Mini Skirt and Tank Top
Both the top and the skirt in this outfit came in my box. Both fit me well, but my favorite part is the color of them! This would make for a great fall transition outfit. You could add a denim jacket or Moto jacket and booties for cooler crisp fall days.

Slip Skirt
Slip skirts are definitely hard to find in petite, so I was excited to see this classic black one in my box. The fit is perfect and it’s one of those wardrobe basics you can wear several ways. I’ll have to style it for you in another post!

Jumpsuit
Short Story has now sent me three jumpsuits that fit so well! It’s definitely hard to find a great fit in a jumpsuit, so I appreciate that. This navy one is soft and stretchy!
